With over 40 years of experience capturing the dynamic world of sports, Daniel has established himself as one of the most respected and celebrated sports photographers in the industry. Educated at UCLA with a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Daniel brings an artist's eye and filmmaker’s precision to every shot, turning fleeting moments in sport into timeless works of art.
Daniel has covered nine FIFA World Cups, capturing some of the most iconic moments in soccer history, including the unforgettable "Hand of God" photo of Diego Maradona during the 1986 World Cup — a photograph that is widely regarded as one of the most famous in the history of the sport. Daniel was also one of the select few photographers to attend and document the inaugural Women’s World Cup in 1991, with his images featured in some of FIFA’s most iconic archives. Having served as FIFA’s official photographer from 1999-2002, he covered all arenas of world soccer, including the 2002 World Cup, the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and a number of futsal U17/U21 Championships.
His work spans a wide array of sports, with a particular focus on soccer, gymnastics, tennis, and the Olympics. Whether he's shooting fast-paced action on the field or capturing the intensity of competition in the Olympic arena, his work is an artistic canvas, brought to life through Daniel’s unique ability to see sports through a different lens.
His photographs have been widely published in major magazines, including Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and The New York Times. Daniel has traveled across all continents, covering the world's biggest sporting events, bringing the energy and passion of each moment directly to his audience.

Beginning in 2010, Daniel’s son, Ethan, joined the fold with Motzsports. Ethan’s concentration has been in the soccer and tennis world, having covered three FIFA World Cups and a variety of ATP tournaments. As a former professional athlete, he brings a unique flair to sports photography, combining on the field experience to the artistic world of photography. Soon, he will take up the mantle for Motzsports and continue the tradition of excellence established by Daniel in the sports photography world.
